OPEN CALL for a READING GROUP «The Ignorant Schoolmaster: Knowledge and educational practices in contemporary art and culture».

Reading group is a series of meetings, where participants are offered to read and discuss the texts stated under the topic with the moderator. Please note that the texts will be in English.

Already implemented programs and projects are to be discussed as examples of educational practices described in the texts. For instance, Queens Museum (New York, USA), Serpentine Gallery (London, Great Britain), Tensta Konsthall (Stockholm, Sweden), Documenta 5 and 12 (Cassel, Germany) and Casco - Office for Art, Design and Theory (Utrecht, Netherlands) activities in this field are going to be in focus.

The role of a group moderator at the NCCA meetings will take Alexander Ivanov - educational projects curator, art manager, researcher, head of the art studio of the Petersburg charitable public organisation "Perspectives" at PNI No. 3 in Peterhof

We invite the artists, curators, art historians, education professionals, art critics, willing to increase their professional texts comprehension skills and learn to freely discuss them with other community members.

The number of participants in the group - 15 people. Participation is free, but individual registration is required.

Meetings will be held at: North-West Branch of the National Centre for Contemporary Art as part of ROSIZO: St. Petersburg, ul. Glinka, 2 lit. "A", 2nd floor.
