This extensive lecture series, consisting of six interconnected modules on Russian and international contemporary art of the second half of the 20th century – early 21st century.

Its comprehensive and universal approach makes this NCCA educational program unique and different from programs offered by other institutions.

The lecture series offers a comprehensive look at contemporary art history, including topics such as:
- Historiography;
- Methodology;
- Theory and critique of contemporary art;
- 20th century architecture and design;
- Western visual and plastic art of the second half of 20th century;
- Development of Russian art in the second half of 20th century;
- History of alternative film, video, and media art;
- Institutional system of contemporary art
